Our educators began their careers with a passion to make a meaningful difference by supporting learners of all abilities.
At MICAA, we focus on building critical thinking skills, reducing learning anxiety, and strengthening academic confidence. Each child’s success and ability to reach their full academic potential is our commitment.
We continuously evolve our methods and stay up to date with research-based materials because every generation learns differently and every child has a unique learning style.
Our role is to meet each child where they are and guide them forward on their educational journey.
The KRA measures four key learning domains:
• Language and literacy
• Mathematics
• Physical well-being and motor development
• Social foundations
Through individualized learning programs, we help children successfully transition into the unfamiliar environment of a kindergarten classroom with confidence and readiness.
Skills your child will develop:
• Writing their full name
• Recognizing uppercase and lowercase letters
• Phonemic awareness and letter–sound relationships
• Tracking words left to right
• Building sight vocabulary
• Reading simple one-syllable words
• Speaking in complete sentences
• Following multi-step directions
• Social expression and interaction
• Counting objects and recognizing numbers
• Identifying shapes and patterns
• Comparing size, height, and length
Kindergarten-aged children are naturally curious and enthusiastic about learning. Our Kindergarten Prep Tutoring Program prepares children for kindergarten readiness entrance exams, including the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA).
Kindergarten Prep Tutoring
After an initial assessment, we provide personalized academic tutoring for students in grades K–10 with a strong focus on academic achievement and social-emotional readiness.
We use evidence-based and research-driven curriculum, including:
• Reading Mastery
• Reading Milestones
• Expressive Writing Programs
• Touch Math
These structured, direct-instruction programs break learning into small, teachable parts to support steady progress.
In addition to classroom support, our tutors may provide supplemental curriculum for students who benefit from enrichment or accelerated learning.
Gifted learners, in particular, thrive in a 1:1 environment that allows them to explore subjects at an advanced pace.
After an initial assessment, we provide personalized academic tutoring for students in grades K–10 with a strong focus on academic achievement and social-emotional readiness.

Special Needs & IEP Support
At what age can my child start enrichment programs?
Children can begin enrichment programs as early as 2 years old.
Toddlers (ages 1–3) are primarily kinesthetic learners who process information best through movement, touch, and hands-on experiences. Our toddler enrichment program introduces a positive “school environment” using a structured play-based learning approach to build early readiness skills.
Does my child need an evaluation?
Yes. We require a consultation and informal assessment with one of our specialized tutors before enrollment.
This allows us to make ethical, personalized recommendations based on your child’s learning style, developmental level, and academic needs.
We assess:
• Visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles
• Interests and personality
• Learning preferences
• Developmental and academic readiness
This ensures your child receives an individualized tutoring plan that supports real progress.
How does the enrollment process work?
Once you contact us, we begin with an intake process and informal assessment to create a personalized educational plan.
We may also ask you to share any relevant medical reports, school evaluations, or schoolwork to better understand your child’s learning needs and academic goals.
What types of curriculum do you use?
All of our curriculum is evidence-based and research-driven.
Some of the programs we use include:
• Reading Mastery

Through individualized instruction, students learn how academic concepts apply to daily life. They develop problem-solving skills, pattern recognition, and logical thinking.

• Increase student engagement
• Improve academic confidence
• Foster independent learning
• Support long-term academic growth
How does MICAA work with me as a parent?
We provide regular updates on your child’s progress, including insights into strengths, challenges, and academic improvements.
This helps parents communicate more effectively with their child’s school and support learning at home.

Yes, with parental consent.
We offer school consultation services for an additional fee. This may include:
• Guiding parents through the Department of Education (DOE) special education process
• Attending school or IEP meetings
• Consulting with teachers and school staff
Can my child receive 1:1 tutoring?
Yes. We often recommend 1:1 tutoring for young learners, students with minimal independent skills, or students with ADHD/ADD.

A key goal of our tutoring program is helping students work successfully alongside peers in school settings.
